    Summary

When you think about your super, you probably think of it as your guarantee to retiring comfortably. But what if it could also support your health?

Health Scout – available to eligible AMP Super members – is designed to do just that. It’s a new, free, digital health tool that helps you take charge of your wellbeing with early intervention and preventive health checks.

    What is Health Scout?

Health Scout is a simple, confidential tool that helps you understand your current health and spot early risk-factors, so you can take steps to stay healthier, longer.

It takes around three minutes to complete and gives you a personal snapshot based on your age, lifestyle and family history. You’ll get a read of your risk levels for common conditions like heart disease, diabetes, bowel, breast and skin cancer, as well as tailored advice you can act on straight away.

Why should I use Health Scout?

When it comes to chronic health conditions, early intervention is key. Research by the Department of Health & Aged Care shows that 49% of Australians have one or more chronic condition like diabetes, heart disease or cancer that could have been prevented through early intervention.¹

Despite this large number, there is a decline in health check attendance by Australians – Breast Screen Australia reported that only half of Australian women within the recommended age range have participated in a breast screening in 2023.²

TAL itself noted in their own research that declining physical health is a concern for retirees, alongside reduced mobility, long-term health care and cognitive decline.³

That’s where tools like Health Scout come in. Not only can it help you get on top of health risks and take preventative action, it can also help you feel more confident about your insurance cover through super, and how it supports your overall wellbeing

There are more benefits to using Health Scout:

    • It’s private. No sign-ups. No personal info shared.

    • It’s fast. Takes 3 minutes tops.

    • It’s empowering. You’ll get instant, tailored health tips that make sense for your life.

    • It’s backed by experts, with insights built from decades of research and data.

    How does Health Scout work?

Health Scout is available through your super fund. For AMP super members eligble for insurance with TAL, you can access Health Scout via Health Hub – our health and wellbeing platform built to support you with your physical, mental and financial wellbeing before, during and after an insurance claim. Just log into My AMP and navigate to your insurance policy to find it.

After completing a short online survey, you’ll receive tailored feedback based on your health and lifestyle.

    • If you’re in good shape, you’ll get advice to help you stay on track.

    • If there are areas to improve, you’ll be given guidance and practical next steps.

    • If you're in a higher-risk category, you’ll be encouraged to check in with a health professional for extra support.

How does Health Scout benefit me long-term?

A lot of chronic health conditions can be prevented with early action, but many people put off getting health checks. That puts them at greater risk of serious illness and increases the likelihood of needing to make an insurance claim.

Health Scout helps you take control of your physical health, before issues arise. Health Scout is complemented by other tools available on Health Hub that support your mental and financial wellbeing, because the three are connected. Plus, when you’re well, you’re more likely to stay in work, keep contributing to your super, and enjoy the life you’ve been saving for.

    How do I try it?

Eligible AMP Super members can log into My AMP to access Health Hub – from there you’ll find Health Scout.

It’s a small investment of your time that could make a big difference in your health journey.

AMP Super is here to support you – not just in retirement, but in the days, months and years leading up to it.
